The local trails directly accessible from our property are great for beginner hikers! With a variety of well traveled trails through the neighboring hills, experience views of the Anaconda-Pintler Mountains and check out some of the wildlife that frequent the ranch like Rocky Mountain Elk, Bighorn Sheep, Whitetail Deer, and more.
Yes, the trails are always open. In the winter, we recommend have traction spikes or snowshoes depending on snow levels.
Hiking shoes, water, snacks, clothing layering, sunscreen, sunglasses, and bear spray are necessities for hiking in Montana.
The best times are late spring to fall (May to October), when the weather is mild and trails are accessible. Winter hiking is also an option in some areas, but be prepared for snow and cold conditions.
